Over 10,000 Demonstrations in
Morocco in Support of Gaza Against Zionist Extermination
Moroccan cities have witnessed the
organization of more than 10,000 various demonstrations, including sit-ins and
marches, in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to
extermination by the Israeli occupation since October 7, 2023, according to the
Moroccan Commission for Supporting the Causes of the Ummah on Monday.
The commission (non-governmental) stated in
its report that “following the 92nd Friday of popular sit-ins and
demonstrations in support of Gaza, the cities witnessed 9,820 sit-ins and 660
local marches, alongside 250 national seminars and lectures, and hundreds of
local lectures.”
Many Moroccan cities, including the capital
Rabat, continue to hold large gatherings almost daily in solidarity with the
Palestinian people, demanding an end to the Israeli aggression on Gaza, lifting
the siege, and allowing humanitarian aid to enter.
The commission praised “the free people of
the world who expressed their humanitarian solidarity with Palestine through
popular marches, artistic and human rights events, and their readiness to
participate in the ‘Fleet of Resilience’ to break the siege.”
It also called on “Arab and Islamic nations
to fulfill their historical duty in defending innocent lives, safeguarding
Palestinian national rights, and protecting Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is threatened
with Judaization and demolition.”
Furthermore, the commission urged “the
international community and UN institutions to fulfill their legal and moral
responsibilities in protecting Palestinian civilians and preventing acts of
genocide and war crimes.”
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli
occupation, with U.S. support, has carried out a genocidal campaign in Gaza,
resulting in 64,522 Palestinian deaths and 163,096 injuries, most of them women
and children, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and a
famine that claimed the lives of 393 Palestinians, including 140 children.
