IUMS strongly condemns the government's actions against the Muslim minority in India

The International Union of Muslim Scholars strongly condemns the government of India's policies against the Muslim minority and denounces a policy of severe restrictions, hatred and the prevention of freedoms and the enactment of racist laws" against them.

IUMS also reminds the Indian government of the historical relationship between Muslims and India, and the historical tolerance of Muslims

IUMS warns that the continuation of these policies could lead to negative reactions and ruin friendly relations with Muslims throughout the world.

IUMS calls United Nations, Arab and Islamic countries and international community, urged to act and stop all violations and forms of racism against Muslims and all citizens.

In addition, IUMS declares his full solidarity with the Indian Muslim women who have been barred from entering some colleges and universities because of their veil.

IUMS is deeply concerned about the conditions of Muslims in India, due to the repeated violations committed by the government of India, as well as practices that amount to racism.

IUMS concern about the persistent public calls for the genocide of Muslims, launched recently by various Hindutva supporters in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and the consequent harassment that has distinctly reflected on the Muslim women there. Including the prohibition of Muslim female pupils from wearing the veil in few Indian states, in the way that Karnataka, targeting private places of worship, and growing occurrence of intensity and the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia.

In the face of these crimes and calamities against humanity, the Union confirms  the following:

First: The Union directs its appeal and appeal to the sane, peaceful people of India to work to stop the wave of violence, racism and hatred, and that these actions are not in the interest of India and its future, and that the consequences of violence and racism are dire for the country's security, stability, prosperity and unity of its people.

Second: The Union reminds the current government of the historical relations between Muslims and India and that the continuation of these racist policies will undoubtedly lead to economic boycott and other reactions.

Third: The Union calls on the international community, led by the United Nations, and Islamic and Arab countries, to combat these violations and various racist practices, and to take the necessary measures to curb all forms of racism and discrimination against Muslims, to ensure the safety of the entire Indian society, including Muslims and other minorities.

Third: The Union calls on all Muslims, politicians, scholars, thinkers, and others, to exert the legally required diligence to stop what is happening to our brothers in India, each in his place and according to his abilities. This is a legitimate and human duty.
