IUMS calls on political and military leaders in Sudan to immediately stop the fighting, eradicate discord, calm the situation, and begin national dialogue

The International Union of Muslim Scholars is calling on political and military leaders, as well as all parties, to calm the situation and stop the fighting immediately. They urge the parties to resolve conflicts and establish national dialogue between political and military factions, avoid inciting speeches, and quell the sedition that is more destructive than killing, in order to protect the innocent Sudanese blood and out of respect for the holy month of Ramadan.

The Union warns that allowing more tensions to escalate increases the risk of further escalation, and may lead to the complete dismantling of Sudan. These are serious crimes that should not be allowed to happen, for Allah says: "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and Allah has become angry with him, has cursed him and prepared for him a great punishment." [Surat An-Nisa 4: 93]

The Union calls on authorities on both sides to immediately stop the escalation and prevent any further provocations that may be caused by "extremist elements".

The World Union of Muslim Scholars expresses its deep concern about the deteriorating security situation in Sudan, which is witnessing clashes and disputes between political and military factions.

While calling on all parties to calm the situation and maintain civil peace, we emphasize the need to resolve the existing disputes between political factions and activate national dialogue to exit this crisis in a peaceful and disciplined manner.

We also stress the importance of avoiding inciting speeches and speaking against those who seek to escalate the situation, and calling on all parties to adhere to calm and logical language that is consistent with the national interest of the country.

We, at the World Union of Muslim Scholars, consider that national unity and the preservation of civil peace are the two essential elements to achieve progress and prosperity in Sudan. We urge all parties to work together constructively to achieve these noble goals.

Finally, we call on all parties to adhere to the principles of democracy and human rights, which are the basis for building a better future for Sudan and its noble people.

Allah says: "The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy." [Surat Al-Hujurat 49:10]
