The Israeli occupation police
\nissued deportation orders preventing the head of the Freedoms Committee in the
\nPalestinian interior Sheikh Kamal Khatib, and the head of the outlawed Islamic
\nMovement inside the Green Line Sheikh Raed Salah, from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque
\nfor one week, with expectations that the decision may be extended to six months<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh Kamal Khatib explained
\nthat the summons began with a phone call from a woman who introduced herself as
\na police officer. When he asked to verify her identity, she responded harshly
\nand threatened him with arrest<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He added that Sheikh Raed Salah
\nwas also summoned, and arrangements were made with lawyers for them to attend
\nthe police station in Nazareth instead of Jerusalem<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Khatib described these measures
\nas reflecting the \u201carrogance\u201d of the establishment, noting that his exclusion
\nfrom Al-Aqsa is presented as a security threat, while settler incursions and
\nrestrictions imposed on worshippers are not treated in the same way. He
\nexpressed confidence that this phase will eventually come to an end<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Sheikh Raed Salah
\nconfirmed that he had received an order banning him from entering Al-Aqsa
\nMosque, stressing that Al-Aqsa is a purely Islamic right for Muslims, and that
\nthe Islamic Waqf Council is the authority responsible for it. He considered the
\njustifications for the ban to be baseless<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Legally, the lawyer accompanying
\nboth sheikhs condemned these measures, describing the summons as
\n\u201creprehensible,\u201d and stating that the justification by the Israeli occupation
\npolice that their presence poses a threat to public order is \u201cillogical.\u201d He affirmed
\nthat the natural state is for Muslims to be present in Al-Aqsa Mosque, not
\nprevented from it<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He added that around one thousand
\ndeportation orders have been issued from Al-Aqsa since Ramadan, some of them
\nbased merely on social media posts, while criticizing the full protection
\nprovided to settlers during their incursions into the mosque and their
\nperformance of Talmudic rituals in its courtyards<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh Kamal Khatib concluded by
\nemphasizing that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a purely Islamic right for Muslims,
\nexpressing optimism about relief soon, saying: \u201cWe are closer to relief, God
\nwilling<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
