The Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed
\nbin Thani Quran Competition\u2014organized by Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf)
\nand Islamic Affairs\u2014has begun the preliminary rounds for candidates who
\nadvanced from internal qualifiers held in the countries of origin of orphans
\nsponsored by Qatar Charity. This comes<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> \u0636\u0645\u0646 <\/span><\/span>its newly introduced global
\ncategory, \u201cRufaqa<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The inaugural edition of this
\ncategory features participation from 20 countries, reflecting the competition\u2019s
\ngrowing international dimension and its expanding geographical and humanitarian
\nreach. It also underscores its focus on sponsored orphans worldwide, within an
\nintegrated vision that combines the Quranic message with charitable work<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The preliminary rounds are being
\nconducted remotely<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> \u0639\u0628\u0631 <\/span><\/span>video
\ncommunication platforms to select the top 40 contestants across the
\ncompetition\u2019s three categories. The process is overseen by three specialized
\nQatari judging panels headed by Sheikh Mahdi Ali Al-Qahtani, Sheikh Mohammed
\nAli Al-Hammadi, and Sheikh Subaih Mohammed Al-Marri<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\u201cRufaqa<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The preliminary evaluations will
\ncontinue over a two-week period, from Sunday, April 19 to Thursday, April 30.
\nDuring this time, judging panels assess participants based on precise criteria,
\nincluding memorization, rules of Tajweed, and quality of recitation
\nperformance. Qualification is determined solely by the highest scores in each
\ncategory, regardless of nationality, reinforcing principles of fairness and
\nmerit-based competition<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The first edition of the \u201cRufaqa\u201d
\ncategory has seen strong participation, with 138 contestants competing in the
\nfull Quran memorization category, 42 in the 20-part memorization category, and
\n103 in the 10-part memorization category<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

These rounds are part of a
\nstructured and approved mechanism implemented by the organizing committee in
\ncooperation with Qatar Charity. The process <\/span>\u043f\u0440\u043e\u0445\u043e\u0434\u0438\u0442<\/span>
\nthrough four main stages, beginning with internal qualifiers in participating
\ncountries, followed by the current remote preliminary rounds, then remote final
\nrounds in which 30 contestants\u201410 from each category\u2014will qualify, culminating
\nin the in-person finals in Qatar, where the top three winners in each category
\nwill be determined<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jassim bin Abdullah Al-Ali,
\nChairman of the Organizing Committee of the Sheikh Jassim Quran Competition,
\nstated that the launch of the \u201cRufaqa\u201d category and the execution of its
\nvarious stages reflect Qatar\u2019s vision of integrating the Quranic message with
\nhumanitarian work. He noted that this category represents a qualitative
\naddition to the competition\u2019s journey by targeting sponsored orphans under
\nQatar Charity and nurturing their Quranic talents worldwide<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Ali further explained that the
\n\u201cRufaqa\u201d category is implemented within a strategic partnership between the
\nMinistry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs\u2014represented by the Sheikh Jassim
\nQuran Competition\u2014and Qatar Charity, which handles organizational and
\nlogistical aspects through its offices spread across dozens of countries,
\nensuring the program reaches the largest possible number of sponsored orphans<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
