Mass Protests in
\nMorocco Denounce Normalization with Occupation and Affirm Support for Palestine<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Hundreds of citizens took part on
\nWednesday in a protest in the city of Marrakesh in northern Morocco, in support
\nof Palestine and in rejection of normalization with the occupation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The demonstration was called for
\nby the \u201cMoroccan Front for the Support of Palestine and Against Normalization\u201d
\n(a non-governmental organization), where participants expressed their rejection
\nof what they described as \u201cprovocative and normalization practices<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Protesters chanted slogans
\ncondemning the occupation, including: \u201cOh Zionist, you coward, the prisoner
\nshall not be humiliated,\u201d and \u201cThe people want the fall of normalization.\u201d They
\nalso held banners calling for an end to normalization with the occupation,
\nincluding: \u201cNo to settling Zionists in the country<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The protest coincided with social
\nmedia activists circulating images of a group of Haredi Jews performing
\nreligious rituals near the historic Bab Doukkala gate in central Marrakesh,
\nwithout any official comment from the authorities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In December 2020, Morocco and the
\noccupation resumed diplomatic relations under U.S. mediation, a step that was
\nmet with rejection from segments of the public and political forces within the
\nkingdom. This was followed by visits by officials from the occupation to Rabat,
\nbefore they were halted with the start of the war of extermination on Gaza<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Since October 8, 2023, the
\noccupation has been waging a war of genocide on the Gaza Strip with U.S.
\nsupport, resulting in more than 72,000 Palestinian martyrs and over 172,000
\nwounded, most of them children and women, in addition to widespread destruction
\naffecting around 90% of the civilian infrastructure in the enclave<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
