Widespread Global
\nMobilization in Support of Palestinian Prisoners<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Mass protests erupted across
\nseveral regions worldwide on Sunday to mark Palestinian Prisoners\u2019 Day,
\nobserved annually on April 17, amid growing public outrage over violations
\ncommitted by the Zionist occupation against prisoners, most notably the approval
\nof a law allowing the implementation of the death penalty<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

International Outrage<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In the occupied West Bank, a mass
\nmarch set off in the city of Nablus from the municipal council building toward
\nMartyrs\u2019 Square in the city center, with broad participation from residents as
\nwell as official and popular bodies<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Nablus Governor, Ghassan Daghlas,
\naffirmed that the Zionist occupation continues to impose a blockade on the
\nPalestinian people, alongside escalating violations against prisoners, pointing
\nto the seriousness of the death penalty law passed by the Knesset<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Mass Demonstrations<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

On March 30, the Knesset approved
\nthe law by a majority of 62 votes in favor, 48 against, and one abstention. The
\nlaw permits the execution of Palestinian prisoners accused of deliberately
\nkilling Israelis and is set to apply to around 117 detainees, with backing from
\nright-wing parties<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Death Penalty Law<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In Morocco, thousands of
\nprotesters marched in the capital, Rabat, in a solidarity demonstration that
\nbegan at Bab El-Had and headed toward the parliament, raising slogans
\ncondemning violations by the Zionist occupation inside prisons and calling for
\nthe repeal of the law and support for prisoners<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In Australia, the city of
\nMelbourne witnessed a large-scale protest, with demonstrators carrying
\npro-Palestinian banners and demanding international action to secure the
\nrelease of prisoners and abolish the death penalty law<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Global Solidarity<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Activists stated that events
\nmarking Palestinian Prisoners\u2019 Day in Australia will continue for a week,
\naiming to shed light on the inhumane conditions endured by prisoners, including
\ntorture and abuses inside detention facilities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In Tunisia, a solidarity march
\ntook place on Saturday in support of the Gaza Strip and in rejection of
\ncontinued violations by the Zionist occupation of the ceasefire agreement,
\nalongside calls for the release of Palestinian prisoners and condemnation of
\nthe death penalty law<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

More than 9,600 Palestinian
\nprisoners, including children and women, remain held in Zionist occupation
\nprisons, where they face torture, starvation, and medical neglect, leading to
\nthe martyrdom of dozens<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Violations against prisoners have
\nescalated in parallel with the genocide carried out by the Zionist occupation
\nin the Gaza Strip, with U.S. support, since October 7, 2023, resulting in the
\nfall of thousands of Palestinian martyrs<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
