Promising Islamic

In a move reflecting a practical
\napproach to advancing Islamic work and strengthening its institutional
\nframeworks, H.E. Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, President of the Ethiopian Islamic
\nAffairs Supreme Council, received at his office in Addis Ababa the Mufti of the
\nRepublic of Rwanda and Head of its Islamic Council, H.E. Sheikh Musa
\nSindyangaya, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation in religious affairs
\nand development<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting comes amid growing
\ninterest among Muslims in Rwanda in benefiting from Ethiopia\u2019s experience. The
\nRwandan Mufti noted that the history of Islam in his country spans only about a
\ncentury, emphasizing the importance of drawing on Ethiopia\u2019s expertise in the
\nfields of da\u2019wah, religious education, and the development of Islamic
\ninstitutions<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Discussions focused on mechanisms
\nfor exchanging institutional experiences between the two sides, with the aim of
\nadvancing Islamic work in Rwanda and enhancing the role of its religious
\ninstitutions in serving society. The Ethiopian side highlighted the country\u2019s
\nlong-standing Islamic heritage, which provides a cumulative body of experience
\nthat can be leveraged to build more stable and effective institutional models<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting concluded with the
\nannouncement of the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two
\ncouncils, opening the door to a practical partnership in exchanging expertise
\nand implementing joint programs in the coming phase. This step reflects a tangible
\nshift from the exchange of views to actionable and follow-up-oriented
\ninitiatives<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
