The International
\nUnion of Muslim Scholars extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy
\nto the Libyan people and the Muslim Ummah on the passing of Sheikh Ahmad Milad
\nQaddour, member of the Libyan Fatwa Council \u2013 may Allah have mercy on him. He
\nwas a distinguished scholar and devoted preacher, combining profound knowledge
\nwith sincere advocacy, humility, and scholarly integrity. He served as a
\nreference in issuing fatwas, a guiding light in preaching, and a mentor to
\ngenerations of students of knowledge<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The deceased left a
\nlasting impact in mosques, institutes, pulpits, and media, both within Libya
\nand abroad<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Birth
\nand Early Life<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Sheikh Ahmad Milad
\nQaddour was born in 1936 in Tripoli, in the Souq al-Jum\u2019a area \u2013 Shat
\nal-Hanshir neighborhood. He began his educational journey early, memorizing the
\nQur\u2019an and receiving his initial instruction under Sheikh Taher Abdel Mawla and
\nSheikh Shukri bin Ahmad bin Hammadi \u2013 may Allah have mercy on them<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Pursuit
\nof Knowledge and Academic Journey<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

He began his formal
\nstudies in 1949 at Al-Asmar\u012b Institute in Zliten, focusing on Islamic sciences
\nand languages, under prominent scholars such as Sheikh Al-Tayeb Al-Taher
\nAl-Misrati, Sheikh Mansour Abu Zubaida, and Sheikh Abu Bakr Hamir. Social
\ncircumstances and the passing of his father \u2013 may Allah have mercy on him \u2013
\ntemporarily interrupted his studies<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He resumed his
\nacademic journey in 1957 at Ahmed Pasha Mosque in Tripoli, balancing work with
\nstudy, and learning from renowned scholars including Sheikh Ali Al-Gharyani,
\nSheikh Abdulsalam Al-Bizanti, Sheikh Khalil Al-Mazoughi, and Sheikh Ali Hussein
\nAl-Maslaty<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He enrolled in
\nuniversity in 1971 and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Islamic
\nSharia, studying under esteemed professors including Sheikh Mustafa Al-Turki,
\nSheikh Omar Al-Janzouri, Sheikh Al-Tayeb Al-Naas, Dr. Ahmad Al-Khalifi, and Dr.
\nMuhammad Al-Jarbi<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Scholarly
\nand Preaching Roles<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Sheikh Ahmad \u2013 may
\nAllah have mercy on him \u2013 held numerous important scholarly and preaching
\npositions, including<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>:<\/o:p><\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Teacher and instructor at the Institute of Imamate and
\nPreaching in Tripoli (1977) and its director<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> (1983).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Teacher at the School of Islamic Arts and Crafts<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> (1985).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Preacher and Friday Khateeb in Tripoli mosques from
\n1970, and mosque inspector until 1974<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assigned to deliver scholarly lessons at the Holy
\nMosque in Mecca and the Prophet\u2019s Mosque in Medina<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> (1976\u20131980).<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nmentoring numerous students and scholars, leaving a profound impact on their
\nscholarly and preaching careers<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nAlmighty to grant the deceased His vast mercy, reward him abundantly for his
\nknowledge and preaching, grant him steadfastness during questioning, admit him
\ninto the highest Paradise alongside the Prophets and the righteous, and inspire
\nhis family, students, and loved ones with patience and solace<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
