Major Rally in Rabat Shows Solidarity with Palestine and Support

The
\nNational Action Group for Palestine in Morocco has announced the organization
\nof a major national popular march in Rabat on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The march
\nwill start at Bab Al-Ahad at 10:00 a.m., proceed along Mohammed V Street, and
\nconclude at the city\u2019s train station.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In an
\nofficial statement, the group emphasized that the march aims to affirm Moroccan
\npublic solidarity with the Palestinian people, support prisoners held in jails
\nof the Israeli occupation, and denounce policies of the Israeli occupation that
\nviolate freedom of worship and the sanctity of religious sites, particularly
\nthe closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the
\nprevention of religious rituals at these sites.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nstatement also highlighted that the march will draw attention to the
\ndeteriorating conditions of Palestinian prisoners, and reject any legislation
\nthat legalizes the death penalty against them, describing such measures as a
\nserious escalation that violates the right to life and breaches the Geneva
\nConventions on the treatment of prisoners.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nnational secretariat called on all political parties, trade unions, civil
\nsociety organizations, and the general Moroccan public to participate actively
\nin the march, which represents a continuous message of support for Palestinians
\nin their struggle against the Israeli occupation, aiming ultimately for the
\nfull liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nstatement underlined that the march constitutes a national occasion to showcase
\nMoroccan public solidarity with the Palestinian cause, highlighting the active
\nrole of Moroccan civil society in expressing national and humanitarian
\npositions and reinforcing the unity between the Moroccan and Palestinian
\npeoples in the face of aggression and oppression.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It is
\nworth noting that the National Action Group for Palestine is a civil
\norganization established to defend Palestinian rights and support the
\nPalestinian people through awareness campaigns, protest activities, popular
\nmarches, and official statements, focusing on freedom of worship, support for
\nPalestinian prisoners, and opposing violations by the Israeli occupation
\nagainst Palestinian lands and holy sites.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Moroccans
\nhave continued to express their support for Palestine since the outbreak of
\naggression in October 2023, reflecting the persistent popular commitment to the
\nPalestinian cause, even after Morocco resumed official relations with Israel in
\nlate 2020, demonstrating the civil society\u2019s capacity to assert its national
\nstance in favor of Palestine.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
