As Eid
\nal-Fitr approaches, the Federal Territories Mufti of Malaysia and member of the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Fawwaz Fadhil, recalls special
\nmemories linked to his late father, former president of the Malaysian Islamic
\nParty (PAS), Sheikh Fadhil Noor\u2014a scene that reflects the intertwining of
\nfamily life with public and religious service.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nstatements, Fawwaz Fadhil, 45, recognized as the youngest mufti in Malaysia\u2019s
\nhistory, noted that the family home in Alor Setar was always bustling during
\nholiday seasons, with well-wishers and supporters visiting. This was during a
\nperiod when his father was deeply involved in political work and Islamic
\nda\u2019wah, serving as a member of parliament for the Baling constituency and
\nleading the opposition.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He
\nexplained that these experiences had a profound impact on his personal
\ndevelopment, saying: \u201cDuring Eid, many people would come to the house. My
\nfather was a politician, and most of my memories of him are seeing him
\nextremely busy,\u201d adding that his image of his father is closely tied to the
\nweight of responsibilities he carried.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He
\nfurther highlighted that growing up in an environment blending public service
\nand community work shaped his early awareness of responsibility and instilled
\nin him the importance of combining Islamic scholarship with engagement in the
\nnation\u2019s affairs.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr.
\nFawwaz Fadhil represents a new generation of scholars who combine traditional
\nreligious knowledge with openness to societal issues, following a family legacy
\nthat emphasizes the continued scholarly and da\u2019wah role in serving Muslim
\ncommunities.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
