IUMS Kurdistan Branch Holds Youth Scientific Program in
\nSulaymaniyah to Promote Moderate Thought<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nYouth Committee of the Kurdistan Region Branch of the International Union of
\nMuslim Scholars (IUMS) held its monthly session of the annual scientific
\nprogram under the theme: “Establishing a Balanced Moderate Thought”,
\nduring the sixth month of 2025, with the participation of 30 young men from
\nvarious cities of the region.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nsession was distinguished from previous ones, as it was held for the first time
\nin the city of Sulaymaniyah, after traditionally being hosted in Erbil. The
\nprogram featured a comprehensive set of scientific, cultural, and spiritual
\nactivities.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Cultural and Spiritual Visits<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Mr.
\nQani’ Khurshid accompanied the participants on an educational tour to prominent
\nlandmarks in Sulaymaniyah, including:<\/o:p><\/u><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nGrand Mosque and the shrine of Sheikh Kak Ahmad;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nKhanqah of Mawlana Khalid al-Shahrazuri al-Naqshbandi;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nshrine of the renowned Kurdish poet and scholar Mawh\u00ee;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nHezhan Organization for Thought and Spirituality, where they were<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>welcomed
\nby Dr. Tahseen Hama Gharib, who gave a lecture on the importance of scholars
\nengaging with the humanities and elaborated on the concept of the Ummah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

High-Level Scientific Lectures<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Over the
\nfollowing two days, participants attended five valuable scientific lectures
\ndelivered by a distinguished group of scholars and professors:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

1-     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nNoble Qur\u2019an: The Primary Source and Standard for All Other Sources \u2013 Mr.
\nAbdullah Nasrallah;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

2-     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Studies
\nin Ijtihad and Taqlid \u2013 Dr. Omar Abdulaziz;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

3-     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Comparative
\nJurisprudence Among Islamic Schools \u2013 Dr. Diyar Muhammad Barzinji;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

4-     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Introduction
\nto the Science of Maqasid al-Sharia \u2013 Dr. Hamza Khalifa;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

5-     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Introduction
\nto Islamic Economics \u2013 Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Binjweni.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants
\nalso performed the Friday Prayer at Birayeti (Brotherhood) Mosque, where they
\nlistened to the sermon delivered by Dr. Ayoob Al-Zalmi, a member of the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Spreading Knowledge<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

At the
\nconclusion of the program, each participant received a copy of the
\nKurdish-language edition of the book “Introduction to Islamic
\nEconomics”, authored by the President of the Union, His Eminence Prof. Dr.
\nAli Al-Qaradaghi, and translated by Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Binjweni.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
