Al-Quds: Calls to Make Pilgrimage to Al-Aqsa on Last Friday of

In
\nAl-Quds, calls are growing for Palestinians to make pilgrimage to the Al-Aqsa
\nMosque on the last Friday of Ramadan, to pray as close as possible to its
\ncourtyards or at its gates, amid continued restrictions imposed by Israeli
\nauthorities on access to the holy site.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Palestinian
\norganizers in Al-Quds emphasized that the continued closure of Al-Aqsa or
\nrestrictions on entry require a broad popular presence in its vicinity. They
\nurged Palestinians to head to the Old City and maintain vigil at the mosque\u2019s
\ngates, praying in nearby squares and streets if access is denied.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

These
\ncalls come as the last ten nights of Ramadan begin, a period during which tens
\nof thousands of worshippers usually flock to Al-Aqsa to observe the holy
\nnights, perform prayers, and engage in spiritual retreat within its courtyards.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Experts
\non Al-Quds affairs said that praying at the gates or in the surrounding areas
\nof Al-Aqsa sends a clear message of steadfastness and rejection of attempts to
\nalter the status of the holy mosque. They affirmed that the pilgrimage to
\nAl-Aqsa will continue despite closures and restrictions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

All eyes
\nare on the last Friday of Ramadan, which is expected to see large gatherings of
\nworshippers in the Old City and around Al-Aqsa, reflecting Palestinians\u2019
\ncommitment to their right to pray at the first Qibla and the third holiest site
\nin Islam.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
