The Muslim World League held a
\nscholarly lecture on the evening of Saturday, January 31, at its headquarters
\nin Doha, titled \u201cThe Objectives of the Holy Quran and the Renewal of Islamic
\nThought.\u201d The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Jasser Auda, a member of the
\nLeague\u2019s Board of Trustees, in the presence of His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali
\nMohieddine Al-Qaradaghi, President of the League.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The event was part of a series
\nof academic initiatives aimed at renewing contemporary Islamic discourse and
\nthought.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Comprehensive
\nIntellectual Enrichment<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Dr. Jasser Auda emphasized the
\nimportance of intellectual engagement with the Quran in the current era,
\nstressing the need to explore its objectives and apply them in daily life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He outlined the seven
\nmethodological objectives: achieving the purposes, correcting concepts,
\ncategorizing groups, considering natural laws, emulating values, establishing
\nsound reasoning, and implementing divine commands. He highlighted that these
\nobjectives form a foundation for restructuring academic disciplines and linking
\neducation to practical life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The lecturer also stressed that
\nIslamic intellectual renewal should remain independent of any economic,
\npolitical, or architectural system, while focusing on Quranic objectives in
\nareas such as spending and zakat, good governance, consultation (shura), urban
\ndevelopment and aesthetics, as well as worship and faith-based culture. This
\napproach, he noted, contributes to restoring the nation\u2019s dignity and
\nleadership.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture witnessed active
\nparticipation from attendees, who posed a series of questions and inquiries.
\nDr. Auda responded with precision and clarity, adding a distinctive interactive
\nand intellectual dimension to the session.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\non the Jurisprudence of Balance<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the
\nlecture, Sheikh Ali Al-Qaradaghi praised the presentation, affirming that Dr.
\nAuda\u2019s discussion on the objectives of the Quran fully aligns with the
\nJurisprudence of Balance, and underscored the importance of such events in
\npromoting enlightened Islamic thought and fostering comprehensive scholarly
\nawareness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
