\nThe Ummah Declined When the Balance Between Faith and Civilization Was Lost<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>**<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

His Eminence Prof.
\nDr. Ali Mohieddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim
\nScholars, launched his new book, \u201cThe Quranic Methodology for the Advancement
\nof Humanity,\u201d during the Cultural Salon activities at the 35th Doha International
\nBook Fair, in the presence of a distinguished gathering of scholars,
\nintellectuals, and visitors to the exhibition<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the launch
\nsession, Al-Qaradaghi explained that the book addresses two central questions.
\nThe first introduces the fundamental principles of Islam, while the second
\nfocuses on the Quranic methodology for achieving balance between stewardship
\nand worship, worldly and eternal happiness, and the excellence of the Muslim
\nUmmah. This, he noted, is realized through combining comprehensive and
\nauthentic religiosity \u2014 both inwardly and outwardly \u2014 with human civilization
\nfounded upon construction, creativity, and innovation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He further stated
\nthat the book examines the intellectual imbalances that affected the Muslim
\nUmmah across different historical stages, eventually turning into a culture
\nthat pushed the nation toward decline and backwardness. In contrast, the book
\npresents what he described as remedies drawn from the \u201cpharmacy of Islam<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the
\ndiscussion session, Al-Qaradaghi stressed that the Islamic world is facing deep
\nand multiple crises, foremost among them division and severe fragmentation that
\nhave even extended to preachers and Islamic movements, in addition to
\nwidespread problems of underdevelopment, poverty, unemployment, and disease
\naffecting many Muslim countries<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He noted that the
\nbook seeks to answer the most critical question concerning the causes behind
\nthe weakness and decline of the Muslim Ummah despite the Quran\u2019s testimony to
\nits excellence. He explained that during the era of the Prophet Muhammad<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> \ufdfa <\/span><\/span>and the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the Ummah adhered to a
\ncomprehensive Quranic methodology that harmonized the light of revelation with
\nthe light of reason, thereby fulfilling humanity\u2019s supreme purpose of
\nstewardship on earth<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Qaradaghi added
\nthat this methodology is built upon two balanced pillars: the first is sound
\nand complete religiosity that unites the outward and inward dimensions of
\nfaith, while the second is beneficial civilization based on innovation,
\ncreativity, and nation-building. He emphasized that the disruption of this
\nbalance has been among the foremost causes of the civilizational decline
\nexperienced by the Ummah today<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of
\nthe launch event, His Eminence signed a large number of copies of his book for
\nscholars, students of knowledge, and exhibition visitors, amid wide engagement
\nand remarkable interest in the book and its intellectual and civilizational
\nthemes<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
