In the context of growing
\nattention to issues facing the Islamic world, Malaysian Prime Minister Dato\u2019
\nSeri Anwar Ibrahim received on Thursday morning, April 23, 2026, at his office
\nin the capital Kuala Lumpur, His Eminence Sheikh Mohammed Al-Hassan Ould
\nAl-Dedew, Vice President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars and Head
\nof the Center for Training Scholars in Mauritania, in a meeting marked by
\ncordiality and shared concern over the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting, which lasted for
\nnearly one hour, witnessed in-depth discussions on the most prominent crises
\nconfronting the Islamic world, as well as Malaysia\u2019s efforts in supporting
\npathways toward solutions and strengthening stability. Kuala Lumpur continues
\nto consolidate its position as an active actor in promoting dialogue and
\nrapprochement among the components of the Ummah<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Both sides also addressed
\nprospects for cooperation between the Malaysian government and the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars, with emphasis on supporting the just
\ncauses of the Ummah, strengthening unity, and enhancing coordination between
\nscholars and decision-makers in addressing current challenges<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, Sheikh
\nAl-Dedew\u2014who chairs the Mediation and Reconciliation Committee within the
\nUnion\u2014reviewed the Union\u2019s experience in the field of mediation, highlighting
\nits efforts to bridge viewpoints and contain disputes within the Islamic world,
\nas well as the successes achieved in this regard, reinforcing the role of
\ninstitutional work in conflict resolution<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The discussions further explored
\nways to develop joint cooperation in service of the Ummah\u2019s causes, in addition
\nto reviewing regional and international developments, foremost among them the
\nPalestinian issue. The meeting stressed the importance of coordinated action
\nbetween scholars and leaders in supporting the Palestinian people and defending
\ntheir legitimate rights<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This meeting reflects a growing
\ntrend toward activating tools of mediation and dialogue, and strengthening
