President and Secretary-General Discuss the Situation of the

\nAt noon today, Tuesday, March 24, His Eminence Sheikh Prof. Dr. Ali Mohiuddin
\nAl-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, held a
\nmeeting with His Excellency the Secretary-General, Sheikh Dr. Ali Muhammad
\nAl-Sallabi, at the Union\u2019s headquarters, immediately following the blessed Eid
\nal-Fitr holiday. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the latest
\ndevelopments in the situation of the Islamic world, following up on the
\nprogress of the Union\u2019s work and its strategic projects, as well as reviewing
\npreparations for upcoming events and conferences scheduled for the coming
\nperiod.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

At the
\noutset of the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted of the current
\nchallenges facing the Islamic world amid rapidly evolving political and
\nhumanitarian changes. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the
\nrole of scholars and academic institutions in guiding the \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0645\u0629<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> (Ummah), promoting a discourse of moderation, and addressing
\ncrises with a spirit of unity and integration.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nmeeting also addressed key topics related to the Union\u2019s work, foremost among
\nthem the follow-up on the implementation of the strategic plan and an
\nassessment of progress achieved in a number of vital projects, particularly the
\n\u201cCivilizational Project.<\/span>\u201d<\/span> The discussion reviewed
\naccomplishments to date and the next steps for expanding its implementation
\nthrough scholarly and media programs, in a manner that contributes to achieving
\nits goals of building civilizational awareness and promoting Islamic values.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nmeeting further touched on ongoing preparations for several important
\ninternational conferences, most notably the conference titled \u201cProtecting the
\nFamily in the Face of Contemporary Challenges,\u201d which is being organized in
\ncooperation with a number of academic institutions and aims to explore ways to
\nsafeguard the family and strengthen its cohesion in light of current
\nintellectual and social challenges.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally,
\nboth sides discussed preparations for an international conference on
\n\u201cIslamophobia,\u201d which seeks to highlight the growing phenomenon of hatred
\nagainst Islam and Muslims, examine its impacts, and develop scholarly and
\npractical approaches to address it at both the intellectual and media levels.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

At the
\nconclusion of the meeting, the President and the Secretary-General stressed the
\nnecessity of integrating efforts among the Union\u2019s various bodies, committees,
\nand branches, and working in a unified team spirit to achieve the set
\nobjectives. They also underscored the importance of the upcoming phase, which
\nrequires greater coordination, accelerated implementation, and enhanced
\nscholarly and media presence of the Union on the international stage.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
