In a step to enhance
\nhumanitarian cooperation and support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,
\na delegation from the Jerusalem and Palestine Committee of the International
\nUnion of Muslim Scholars visited the Turkish Umut Kervan\u0131 Foundation (Umut Kervan\u0131
\nVakf\u0131) on Monday, December 29, 2025. The delegation was led by Dr. Marwan Abu
\nAssem, accompanied by the Committee\u2019s Director, Mr. Hamdi Abdelazim, and
\ncoordinated with Dr. Suleiman Kezelsinar<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The delegation was
\nwarmly received by the Foundation\u2019s Chairman, Cengiz Kurtaran, and several of
\nhis associates. The meeting included a cordial welcome for the Committee\u2019s head
\nand members, and discussions focused on the humanitarian situation in Gaza and
\nways to enhance support and aid<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting,
\nDr. Marwan Abu Assem provided a detailed presentation on the humanitarian
\nsituation in Gaza amid the ongoing war, highlighting the rising numbers of
\nmartyrs and orphans, as well as the urgent needs for basic necessities
\nincluding food, healthcare, education, and shelter, stressing that the
\nsituation remains extremely critical<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He also noted that
\nthe so-called ceasefire has not been implemented on the ground, and that
\nPalestinians in Gaza continue to face ongoing destruction and killings, calling
\nfor expanded humanitarian support for the steadfast Palestinian people<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Representatives of
\nthe Turkish Foundation confirmed the continuation of their relief activities,
\nincluding food distribution, provision of tents, and basic aid, expressing
\ntheir willingness to support the humanitarian projects carried out by the
\nCommittee in Gaza<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The visit also
\naddressed ways of cooperating on the \u201cBrotherhood and Steadfastness\u201d project,
\nwhich aims to support scholars and preachers in Gaza. The Foundation pledged to
\nprovide the necessary assistance to ensure the project\u2019s success<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting
\nconcluded with Dr. Marwan Abu Assem presenting the Foundation\u2019s officials with
\na commemorative model of the Dome of the Rock, in appreciation of the
\nFoundation\u2019s humanitarian efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
