On
\nSaturday afternoon, August 2, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Sallabi,
\nSecretary General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS),
\nreceived Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Salem Bin Dodo, a distinguished Mauritanian
\nscholar, member of the IUMS, and former advisor to the Minister of Islamic
\nAffairs and Original Education in Mauritania.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nmeeting, which lasted for nearly two hours, covered several important topics,
\nforemost among them the issues facing the Muslim Ummah and the role of scholars
\nin addressing these challenges. They also discussed the ongoing aggression and
\ngenocidal war in Gaza and Palestine, and the urgent duty to act in order to
\nsave and support the people there.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The two
\nsides also reviewed the academic projects of the IUMS and its members, both
\ncollectively and individually, and discussed the current state of the religious
\nand scholarly landscape in Mauritania and the Maghreb region.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During
\nthe meeting, Sheikh Mohamed Salem Bin Dodo presented his personal academic
\nproject to the Secretary General, as part of the broader framework of scholarly
\nand advocacy cooperation among the scholars of the Ummah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nmeeting comes as part of a series of ongoing engagements held by the Secretary
\nGeneral with scholars and intellectuals, in an effort to strengthen scientific
\nand intellectual collaboration, and to unify efforts in serving the causes of
\nthe Ummah and supporting its revival.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
