Kuala Lumpur \u2013 Dozens of human
\nrights and humanitarian organizations in Malaysia have called for decisive
\ninternational action to rescue thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in
\nIsraeli jails and to hold Israel accountable for systematic abduction and torture
\nagainst the Palestinian people.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The call came during a
\nsolidarity rally held yesterday, Saturday, at the Kuala Lumpur Towers Park,
\ncommemorating the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners.
\nParticipants urged the international community to assume responsibility for the
\ngrave violations faced by prisoners under inhumane conditions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Tian Chua, Secretary-General of
\nthe Secretariat for Solidarity with Palestine, stated that this initiative is
\npart of a growing global movement spanning several continents to confront
\naggression, occupation, killings, and abductions. He emphasized that governments
\nare not doing enough to protect Palestinian human rights, particularly the
\nrights of prisoners.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, gynecologist Dr.
\nFauzia Hassan stressed that silence or complicity in the face of an
\nextermination war constitutes participation in it. She called on peoples and
\ngovernments to reject policies that perpetuate occupation under the guise of
\npeace and to adopt strategies aimed at liberating oppressed populations,
\nforemost among them the Palestinian people.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the rally, Dr. Fauzia
\nwore attire resembling the uniforms of Palestinian prisoners, symbolically
\nreflecting her own past experience in Israeli detention following her arrest
\nwhile participating in the Freedom Flotilla to break the Gaza blockade. She is
\nthe founder of the charitable initiative \u201cFrom Rose to Rose\u201d and a board member
\nof the global \u201cMy Care\u201d Foundation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Zureida Qarnain, Chairwoman of
\nthe Malaysian Women\u2019s Organizations Alliance for Jerusalem and Palestine,
\nexpressed deep concern over the plight of Palestinian women, highlighting
\nshocking cases of occupation practices, including a female prisoner who gave
\nbirth in solitary confinement without any medical or psychological care.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Zureida affirmed that growing
\npublic solidarity and global awareness of occupation crimes offer a glimmer of
\nhope. She stressed the need for combined popular and governmental efforts to
\nrescue Palestinian women and free prisoners, describing these as fundamental
\nhuman rights. She also called for intensified international actions, global
\ndemonstrations, and condemnation of the occupation in various forums.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Malaysian activist Maitraya
\nMutharalingam described the situation in Palestine as exposing the hypocrisy of
\nWestern human rights discourse, emphasizing that the occupation misleads the
\nworld by labeling kidnapped Palestinians as prisoners, while in reality they
\nare victims and freedom fighters. He criticized the inability of international
\ninstitutions to halt acts of extermination and predicted increasing isolation
\nfor Israel and its allies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Concluding the event, Tian Chua
\nasserted that Zionism entrenches a culture of violence within Israeli society,
\ncalling for breaking this culture and fostering awareness based on true justice
\nand peace.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
