The Research and Islamic Studies Department
\nat Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced today, Tuesday,
\n10 Rabi\u2019 Al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to 2 September 2025, the names of the
\nresearchers who won the \u201cSheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani Endowment Award\u201d at
\nboth local and international levels, during a press conference organized by the
\nMinistry<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The international award, in its fifteenth
\ncycle with the theme \u201cSocial Solidarity and Its Role in Achieving Community
\nSecurity,\u201d was won by Moroccan researcher Ismail bin Abdullah Al-Haj.
\nMeanwhile, the local award, in its inaugural cycle on the theme \u201cFamily
\nCohesion and Its Role in Childcare,\u201d was shared between Dr. Omar Othman
\nAl-Khatib, Dr. Khalifa Ahmed Bu Hashim Al-Sayed, and Ms. Layla Fadl Hamad Sada<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The decision to share the local award was
\nmade after the judging committee confirmed that the two research papers
\ncomplemented each other. Dr. Omar Othman\u2019s research stood out for its practical
\nand religious dimensions, while Dr. Khalifa and Ms. Layla focused on field
\nstudies and proposed practical solutions<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al
\nThani, Director of the Research Department, explained that the competition for
\nthe award was intense, involving 57 researchers from 15 countries, including
\nQatar, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria,
\nMorocco, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, and Indonesia<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He noted that although the award recognizes
\nonly the winners, the participating research papers make a significant
\ncontribution to the Arab-Islamic library, with some potentially being published
\nin the \u201cUmmah Book\u201d series, subject to the authors\u2019 approval<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Sheikh Ali Award is the largest and
\nfirst adjudicated endowment award in the fields of culture, Islamic advocacy,
\nand thought in Qatar. It aims to encourage scientific research and develop a
\ngeneration of scholars in Islamic sciences. The award is named after Sheikh Ali
\nbin Abdullah Al Thani, may God have mercy on him, in recognition of his
\ncontributions to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The award carries a value of QAR 200,000 for
\nboth local and international levels, funded by Sheikh Ali\u2019s endowment, may he
\nrest in peace<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al Thani also announced the
\nthemes for the upcoming cycles: the 18th international award will focus on
\n\u201cArtificial Intelligence and Technology Ethics in Islamic Thought,\u201d while the
\nfourth local award will address \u201cFinancial Education for Children According to
\nthe Islamic Approach and Its Impact on Family Economics<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Over nearly three decades, the award has
\nproven its contribution to enriching Islamic knowledge in various fields,
\nincluding endowment and community development, environment, family, education,
\nheritage, consultation, dialogue, human rights, sustainable development,
\ncitizenship, zakat, and \u201cthe jurisprudence of change and building a balanced
\nnation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
