IUMS Member Riadh Al-Majri Documents the \u201cCaravan of

Riadh
\nAl-Majri, a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars from Tunisia,
\nhas published a documentary booklet titled \u201cThe Path of Steadfastness to Gaza\u201d.
\nThe booklet chronicles the experience of the \u201cCaravan of Steadfastness,\u201d which
\nset out from Tunisia as a serious Arab initiative to break the siege imposed on
\nthe Gaza Strip.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This
\nwork \u2013 in which Al-Majri recounts his firsthand observations as one of the
\ncaravan\u2019s participants \u2013 serves as a detailed documentation of the journey. It
\naims to stand as a living testimony to one of the most significant grassroots
\ninitiatives in support of the Palestinian cause.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nauthor explained that the “Caravan of Steadfastness” was a vivid
\nexpression of the awakened Arab and Islamic conscience, which has not remained
\nsilent since the onset of the aggression on Gaza. The caravan represented a
\nnotable act of practical solidarity with the besieged people of Gaza.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In the
\nbooklet\u2019s introduction, Al-Majri wrote:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>“I wanted to
\nshare with all those who followed and sympathized with the caravan the details
\nof this experience, and to document this collective effort so that it remains
\nalive in the memory of future generations.”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nauthor focused on accurately and objectively narrating the events, steering
\nclear of ideological debates or political disputes, in order to preserve the
\nhistorical and documentary nature of the work.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He also
\nhighlighted the grassroots efforts that sustained the caravan, showcasing the
\ndiversity of its participants and their differing intellectual backgrounds,
\nwhile emphasizing their shared goal: supporting Gaza and breaking the siege.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Al-Majri
\nfurther noted the collective awareness demonstrated by the participants, who
\nwere ready to transform this step into a sustained and institutionalized
\ninitiative.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

About the Author<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Riadh
\nAl-Majri was born on October 13, 1984. He holds two undergraduate degrees in
\nMedia Studies and in Sharia and Law, as well as a Master\u2019s degree in the
\nScience of Inheritance (Ilm al-Mawarith).<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

About the Caravan<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The
\n\u201cCaravan of Steadfastness\u201d was launched from Tunisia under the organization of
\nthe \u201cCoordination Committee for Joint Action for Palestine.\u201d It was the first
\nserious Arab attempt to break the blockade on Gaza and included more than 1,000
\nparticipants from Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, and Mauritania.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\ncaravan was described as \u201cthe first genuine Arab popular movement that shook
\nthe Arab bloc out of passive observation and pushed it towards a civilized
\nprotest in the face of the genocide being committed against the Palestinian
\npeople \u2013 without resorting to armed struggle.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

However,
\nthe caravan was ultimately forced to halt its journey toward Rafah after
\nexhausting all possible avenues to enter Egyptian territory, bringing the
\nmission to an end without achieving its final goal.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
