On Sunday, July 6, 2025, His Eminence Sheikh
\nDr. Ali Muhammad Al-Sallabi, Secretary General of the International Union of
\nMuslim Scholars (IUMS), received Mr. Muhammad Nasser Al-Hazbi Al-Idrisi, Media
\nSpokesman of the Association of Yemeni Scholars and Member of the Yemeni
\nParliament, at the Union’s headquarters in Doha, the capital of Qatar<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting addressed the latest
\ndevelopments on the Yemeni scene, particularly regarding doctrinal, academic,
\nand economic conditions, as well as the deep suffering experienced by the dear
\nYemeni people on various levels<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Both sides also discussed the challenges
\nfacing scholars and preachers amid ongoing violations, most notably the recent
\ncrime of the killing of Qur\u2019an teacher Sheikh Saad Hantous (may Allah have
\nmercy on him) in Ibb Governorate \u2014 a tragic incident that sparked wide outrage
\nand once again highlighted the grave and systematic targeting of religious
\nscholars<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Idrisi delivered
\nan official letter from the Association of Yemeni Scholars to the Secretary
\nGeneral, calling on the IUMS to strengthen its support for the Yemeni cause,
\nraise awareness about it among scholarly and human rights communities, and
\nspotlight the violations threatening the religious and cultural identity of the
\nYemeni people<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, the Secretary General
\nexpressed great appreciation for the vital role played by the Association of
\nYemeni Scholars in defending religious and societal principles. He reaffirmed
\nthe International Union of Muslim Scholars\u2019 solidarity with oppressed peoples
\nand its unwavering commitment to supporting just causes \u2014 foremost among them
\nthe protection of the Ummah\u2019s identity, sanctities, and the rights of its
\npeoples<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
