Future Association Holds Its Second Conference in Nouakchott,
Renewing Confidence in Sheikh Al-Daddou as President

The
Future Association for Da’wah, Culture, and Education held its second
conference on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott,
under the theme: “And consult them in affairs: Institutional Guidance for
Enlightened Da’wah and Leading Culture”. The event witnessed wide
participation from association members and representatives of its branches and
departments.

The
conference, hosted at the association’s central headquarters, opened with the
recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from the
preparatory committee outlining the context, objectives, and main themes of the
conference.

Emphasizing
Consultation and the Development of Da’wah Discourse

Sheikh
Mohammed El-Hassen Ould Al-Daddou, President of the Association, delivered a
keynote address emphasizing the importance of consultation (shura) in guiding
institutional work and the need to develop the Da’wah discourse to meet
contemporary challenges. He also stressed the significance of investing in
human talent and enhancing the association’s presence across various fields.

The
opening session witnessed the election of the Conference Management Committee,
headed by Sheikh Ahmed Jeddo Ould Ahmed Bahi, tasked with overseeing the
proceedings and sessions of the conference.

Reviewing
Achievements and Discussing the Statutes

During
the conference, participants discussed several organizational and strategic
issues, notably:

·     The
Executive Report for the Completed Phase, presented by Secretary-General Dr.
Sheikhna Ould Sidi El-Haj, which reviewed the association’s achievements in
Da’wah, cultural, and educational fields over the past period.

·     The
Shura Council Report, presented by Ms. Mariam bint Lisan Al-Din, Vice President
of the council, reflecting the oversight and accountability outcomes of the
previous period.

·     The
Draft Statutes of the Association, with proposals for some amendments and
additions to its articles.

Renewing
Confidence and Electing a New Shura Council

At the
conclusion of the conference, participants renewed their confidence in
Secretary-General Dr. Sheikhna Ould Sidi El-Haj, in recognition of his efforts
in steering and developing the association’s work. A new Shura Council,
comprising 56 members, was also elected, reflecting the association’s
commitment to expanding participatory decision-making and strengthening
consultation mechanisms.

The
holding of this conference aligns with the association’s ongoing efforts to
enhance its Da’wah, cultural, and educational presence, and to move towards a
more effective and impactful phase through consolidating institutional work and
improving its mechanisms.
