Philippines Adopts “Haramain Qur’an Learning Platform” for Quran
Education
The
Philippines has achieved a significant milestone by adopting the “Haramain
Qur’an Learning Platform”, affiliated with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for
Quran education. This makes Sheikh Bukhari Camama the first scholar from the
Bangsamoro Muslim community in the country to receive this international
accreditation.
The
Haramain Platform is a comprehensive digital system that combines rigorous
scientific methodology with modern educational technologies. It offers
extensive programs in Quran recitation, Tajweed, and memorization, supervised
by a team of specialized instructors. The platform also features an advanced
administrative system to monitor student performance and issue certificates and
Quranic licenses, making it a global reference in Quranic education.
Abdul
Rauf “Sami Gambar” Makasua, Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region
in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), emphasized that this achievement represents a
significant milestone for the Bangsamoro Muslim community, reflecting the
region’s commitment to Islamic knowledge and excellence in Quranic studies.
He noted
that this success demonstrates the ability of Bangsamoro scholars to balance
adherence to religious identity with openness to modern educational
initiatives, linking the Muslim community in the Philippines with academic
institutions across the Islamic world.
The
achievement also serves as an inspiration for the youth to deepen their
knowledge of the Quran and pursue learning with sincerity and diligence.
Makasua
added that such academic accomplishments contribute to strengthening the
presence of Southeast Asian Muslim scholars in international Quranic
institutions and reflect the continued legacy of traditional Islamic education
in the region.
The
Muslim population in the Philippines is estimated at around 10 million,
primarily concentrated on the island of Mindanao, where the Bangsamoro
community forms the historical and cultural heart of Filipino Muslims. The
Philippines consists of over 7,000 islands, with a population exceeding 110
million, and its capital is Manila.
