Conclusion of “Clear Verses” Quran Recitation Event in Syria
with Participation of 996 Hafez and Hafiza
The
final stage of the “Clear Verses” Quran Recitation event, organized by the
Department of Quran Affairs at the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf as part of the
“Faith Unites Us” campaign, concluded yesterday, Saturday, with the
participation of 996 hafez and hafiza from across the country.
Dr.
Abdul Qader Al-Othman, Director of the Department of Quran Affairs at the
Ministry of Awqaf, stated that the final stage was held simultaneously at 24
locations across Syria, where participants recited the entire Quran from memory
over three days, completing ten parts per day, after qualifying from among
2,249 hafez and hafiza who took part in the preliminary selection tests.
Al-Othman
highlighted that organizing the event during the holy month of Ramadan aims to
strengthen the presence of the Quran in individuals’ and society’s lives, and
to encourage memorization and review, contributing to instilling Quranic values
and nurturing a conscious generation that carries the message of the Quran in
knowledge and practice.
Meanwhile,
Bara Ali, Head of the Quranic Competitions and Selections Department at the
Ministry of Awqaf, emphasized that the event provided a unifying platform for
young hafez from different governorates, fostering communication around the
Quran and reinforcing the values it promotes in society.
Ali
explained that participants were distributed across several governorates and
regions, notably Aleppo, Damascus, Rural Damascus, Hama, Homs, Idlib, in
addition to Al-Bab, Azaz, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Daraa, Latakia, Quneitra, and
Al-Hasakah.
The
Syrian Ministry of Awqaf launched the “Clear Verses” Quran Recitation event on
February 27 through the Department of Quran Affairs, aiming to encourage hafez
and hafiza to master Quran memorization, recitation, reflection, and
application of its verses.
