Ali Al-Qaradaghi calls on Macron to apologize and blame the attack on Islam

-The Secretary General of the World Union of Muslim Scientists, Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi considered that Emmanuel Macron's interview with Al Jazeera is a "Not positive but insufficient".

The Secretary General of the World Union of Muslim Scholars, Ali Al-Qaradaghi , called on French President Emmanuel Macron to apologize to the Prophet Muhammad (God bless him and grant him peace) and all Muslims . He also urged him to promulgate laws criminalizing any attack on Islam and religious sanctuaries.

On October 21, French President Emmanuel Macron told the media that France will not abandon the "cartoons" "(insulting Islam and the Prophet Mohamed), which have unleashed a wave of anger in the Islamic world, as well. than a campaign to boycott French products.

Al-Qaradaghi indicated, via his Twitter account, that Macron's interview with Al-Jazeera is a step towards moderation, but it remains insufficient to remedy the impact of his first speech on Muslims.

In an interview with Qatari channel Al Jazeera on Saturday, Macron expressed his “understanding” of Muslims' feelings about offensive cartoons without denouncing the attack on the Muslim religion.

Al-Qaradaghi added that he expects more courage from the French president to openly apologize to the Prophet Mohamed as well as to all Muslims, to start a constructive and serious dialogue and to enact laws that prohibit and incriminate insults and contempt for Islam and religious shrines.
