The Committee for Promoting Islamic Brotherhood and Unity in the Union holds a meeting to discuss enhancing communication and scholarly cooperation.

Istanbul - An important meeting was held for the Committee of Islamic Brotherhood and Public Relations in the World Union of Muslim Scholars in Istanbul on Monday, July 24, 2023.

Prominent figures within the union attended the meeting, including Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, the Secretary-General of the union, and several members of the committee led by Dr. Ahmed Al-Rawi, a member of the Board of Trustees.

The significance of this meeting lies in enhancing communication and scholarly cooperation among Muslim institutions and scholars worldwide. The meeting discussed several recommendations and decisions aimed at achieving the committee's objectives and enhancing its capabilities.

The main recommendations of the committee during this meeting highlighted:

  • Focusing on enhancing the role of scientific institutions in Africa, Asia, Central Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Canada to promote scientific and cultural exchange.
  • Engaging with Islamic missionary institutions and utilizing their potential in alignment with the union's goals and policies.
  • Collaborating with non-Islamic organizations that work to spread humanistic, intellectual, and religious values, and cooperating with them in common humanitarian endeavors.

The committee also proposed additional suggestions, including organizing a seminar in mid-2024 that brings together representatives from various scholarly institutions worldwide to exchange experiences and opinions. Additionally, considering the possibility of establishing an association or coordinating council that gathers scholarly institutions worldwide to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange, as well as reinforcing commonalities.

It's worth noting that the committee made the following decisions:

  • Initiating a process to survey scientific institutions in Africa and Asia and maintaining continuous communication with them to enhance collaboration.
  • Preparing for a seminar that highlights the role of scholarly organizations and facilitates the exchange of experiences and ideas.

This meeting reflects the commitment of the World Union of Muslim Scholars to enhance scientific cooperation and cultural exchange, as well as developing religious and scientific institutions in various regions of the world, with the aim of achieving progress and prosperity.
