The IUMS  expresses its solidarity with the fraternal Moroccan people in their grievous calamity. It offers sincere condolences to Morocco - its king, government, and people, and to the families of the victims. The Union prays to Almighty Allah to grant them patience and solace, bestow martyrdom upon the victims, and extend healing to the injured.

It appeals to the Arab and Islamic countries, and charitable organizations, emphasizing that aiding the afflicted is both a religious obligation and a humanitarian duty.

Statement Text:

The  IUMS  expresses its full solidarity with its brothers in Morocco following the earthquake, which registered a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale, on Friday evening. This tragedy resulted in the death and injury of hundreds across various regions of Morocco, including Al Haouz, Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua, and Taroudant, according to information released by the Moroccan Ministry of Interior.

The Union extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to Morocco - its people, king, and government. It prays to Almighty Allah to encompass the victims with His vast mercy, reward them generously, honor their abode, grant them entrance into Paradise, and provide their families and loved ones with patience and solace. The Union also prays for the swift recovery of the injured and the protection of the Moroccan lands from any harm, seeking blessings for its people.

The Union urges Islamic countries, charitable institutions, humanitarian organizations, and philanthropists to promptly fulfill their duty of providing relief from zakat, general charity, and other means. This is our religious obligation towards our brothers, characterized by generosity and giving. As Almighty Allah says, "Indeed, the believers are but brothers..." and the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) stated, "The example of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever." This hadith is narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, and others.
