Condolences and Call for Global Humanitarian Support for Afghan Flood Victims

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The International Union of Muslim Scholars expresses its condolences to the flood victims in Afghanistan and calls for strengthening global humanitarian efforts.

With hearts that believe in the decree of Allah, we extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan, especially the flood victims in Baghlan province, who have suffered a significant natural disaster. The images we have received reflect the extent of the destruction and suffering our brothers are experiencing there, compelling us all to stand by them in these difficult times.

We, at the International Union of Muslim Scholars, call upon all humanitarian associations and organizations, and everyone capable, both Muslims and non-Muslims, to hasten in providing support and assistance to those affected in Afghanistan. We recall the words of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which express the deep human bond: "The example of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is like that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever" (Sahih Muslim).

We also wish to express our profound appreciation for the leading humanitarian efforts and initiatives undertaken by many countries and institutions, which serve as a model of cooperation and solidarity, reflecting a strong commitment to humanity as a whole.

We ask Allah, the Almighty, to have mercy on the deceased, heal the injured, and compensate the survivors for their loss. May He reward all those who extend a helping hand with the best of rewards. We also ask Him to bring security, stability, and peace to Afghanistan and all Muslim countries and the world at large.

Peace and blessings be upon you,

Dr. Ali Al-Sallabi

Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars
