Dr.Ali Alsallabi: Immediate Action Needed to Stop Israeli Aggression and Genocide in Gaza

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

“And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision” (Al-Imran: 169).

The International Union of Muslim Scholars condemns in the strongest terms the horrific massacre committed against the displaced persons in the Mawasi area, which resulted in 350 martyrs and injured on Saturday. This atrocity constitutes a flagrant war crime. The Israeli occupation had designated this area as a safe zone, encouraging civilians to relocate there, making the targeting of this area an egregious crime against innocent children, women, and the elderly.

All evidence indicates that the martyrs targeted by the Israeli bombing in the Mawasi Khan Younis area were unarmed civilians. This incident clearly reflects the ongoing genocide against civilians in the Gaza Strip for the past nine months. This crime confirms the occupation’s continued disregard for all international norms and conventions and its ongoing policy of killing and destruction against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

We call upon the Islamic and humanitarian world to take immediate action and not remain silent in the face of these heinous crimes. Allah Almighty says, “O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witnesses in justice” (Al-Ma'idah: 8). Silence in the face of these crimes equates to complicity, and we hold anyone who fails to support the Palestinian people partly responsible on religious, moral, and humanitarian grounds.

We demand the immediate opening of crossings and an end to the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip, allowing the urgent entry of humanitarian and medical aid to relieve the Palestinian people living under catastrophic humanitarian conditions. The international community must fulfill its responsibilities in this regard.

We are at a historical moment where the global conscience must awaken. Continuing this situation will lead to further humanitarian disasters, and the world cannot remain idle while an entire people is subjected to genocide. We call on all nations, international organizations, and individuals with a conscience to take immediate and effective measures to stop this blatant aggression.

We pray to Allah for mercy for the martyrs and swift healing for the injured and wounded. We ask Him to relieve our Palestinian brothers and sisters and grant them victory over their oppressors.
