The President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars Launches an Initiative to Convene a Humanitarian Summit to Address the Israeli Aggression on Gaza and Lebanon

Message and Call to My Muslim Ummah: Rulers and People

My Initiative for a Humanitarian Summit to Confront the Israeli Aggression on Gaza and Lebanon

This call stems from a heart filled with love and dedication to my Ummah, feeling a duty to protect the components of the Islamic nation and safeguard its unity from the fragmentation that threatens it.

We are facing immense challenges in this era, where forces of evil seek to incite rulers against their people or the people against their rulers, aiming to tear apart the fabric of our Islamic societies. Therefore, I see it as our duty to act swiftly and effectively to confront these conspiracies and protect the Ummah from falling into their traps.

It has become clear that we are living in a critical phase that requires collective action and decisive positions. From this perspective, I propose the convening of a "Humanitarian Summit" to respond to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon. This summit is not merely a political or media event; it is a genuine response and a human voice for all who believe in justice and dignity.

Objectives of the Summit:

  1. End the Arab and Islamic Paralysis: It is evident that the Arab and Islamic nations need to take a strong and united stance.

  2. Stop the Genocide in Gaza and Lebanon: We must act quickly to halt this brutal aggression.

  3. Agree on an International Mechanism to Protect Civilians: We should reach an agreement on an effective mechanism to stop the crimes being committed against our peoples.

  4. Establish an International Humanitarian Organization: This summit seeks to create an international organization focused on rescuing civilians in Gaza and other oppressed areas.

Available Tools: We have various tools at our disposal to exert pressure on the international community. Among the most important of these tools is the threat to cut off oil and gas supplies, as Arab countries hold about 50% of the world's energy resources, which the world cannot afford to be without for long.

Role of Turkey and Malaysia

An official request has been made to both the Turkish President and the Malaysian Prime Minister to invite countries opposing the aggression to participate in this summit. These efforts aim to form a strong international alliance to protect human rights in Gaza and Lebanon.

Organization of the Summit and Side Events:

It is proposed that the summit includes participation from survivors of genocide to share their tragic experiences and the profound human impact. The summit will also feature discussions on genocides in Gaza, Bosnia, and Rwanda, with the announcement of an international alliance to prevent genocides and protect the oppressed.

Importance of Continuity:

This summit must be periodic to ensure serious follow-up on the decisions made. The international alliance should include financial commitments, the deployment of peacekeeping forces, and diplomatic support to achieve our humanitarian goals.

Double Standards of the West:

It is unfortunate to witness the double standards adopted by some Western countries, which advocate for human rights in certain cases while turning a blind eye to the crimes committed in Gaza.

This summit responds to our Islamic heritage of justice and fairness, reminiscent of the Pact of al-Fudul in which the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, participated.

Turkey as a Host Country:

Turkey is the most suitable choice to host this summit due to its geographical location, international relations, and its firm stance on the Palestinian issue.

Efforts of the International Union of Muslim Scholars:

The International Union of Muslim Scholars has made significant efforts to defend the Palestinian cause and confront the genocide in Gaza and Lebanon. We have presented numerous proposals to address the Israeli aggression, but our capabilities alone are limited, and we need the solidarity of Islamic nations.

Our Position on Hezbollah and the Israeli Aggression:

We condemn the Zionist tyranny and call for the protection of all components of the Lebanese people. We reject any gloating towards any faction, as our position is with the oppressed peoples.

Call for Donations and Aid:

We also urge everyone to donate and provide assistance to support the people of Gaza and Lebanon, responding to several fatwas issued to support these humanitarian efforts.

This initiative is just the beginning of a long journey of hard work to protect the Islamic Ummah, and we must all unite—rulers and people—to achieve these noble goals.
