The International Union of Muslim Scholars Mourns Dr. Walid Ahmed Hussein Oweidah, Member of the Palestine Branch and Director General of Quran Memorization at Gaza’s Ministry of Religious Affairs
With profound sadness and sorrow, the International Union of Muslim Scholars extends its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Dr. Walid Ahmed Hussein Oweidah, member of the Union's Palestine branch, who was martyred due to an Israeli airstrike on his home on the evening of Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Dr. Oweidah held a Ph.D. in Hadith and its sciences and served as the Director General of Quran Memorization at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Gaza, Palestine. He was deeply committed to advancing Islamic knowledge and had a distinguished role in guiding young generations towards Islamic values.
Known for his steadfastness and wisdom, Dr. Oweidah was a dedicated scholar and advocate of honesty and devotion in his mission. His life exemplified sacrifice for truth and for elevating the principles of Islam.
The Union, as it mourns this loss alongside the global Muslim community and the resilient people of Palestine, extends its deepest sympathies to the family of the martyr. We pray to Allah, the Most Merciful, to accept him, grant him forgiveness, and admit him to Paradise among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.
The Union also sends condolences to the families of all martyrs in the Muslim Ummah and honors the valiant resistance standing firm against aggression, praying for their victory, strength, and that their sacrifices be weighed heavily in their favor.
