Jordanians Rally in Solidarity with Gaza, Denounce Israel’s Ban on UNRWA
Amman, the capital of Jordan, witnessed a massive demonstration on Friday as Jordanians marched in solidarity with Gaza and condemned Israel's decision to ban the operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
The march, organized by the "National Forum for Supporting Resistance," began at the iconic Al-Husseini Mosque in downtown Amman and concluded at Nakheel Square, covering approximately one kilometer. Protesters rallied under the banner "The Right of Return is Sacred: No to Banning UNRWA" and raised their voices in support of Palestinian and Lebanese resistance.
Chants such as "Salute the warriors of Muhammad Deif" and "Liberation is near—honor Ahmad Sa'adat's fighters" echoed through the streets. Demonstrators carried signs bearing messages like "Help Gaza, O Arabs" and "To abandon relief is to abandon truth."
Saed Al-Damour, a participant in the protest, emphasized the urgency of collective action:
"This march sends a clear message that Jordanians, alongside the Arab and Islamic world, demand an end to the relentless aggression on Gaza and Lebanon. Leaders must act decisively, or they will face divine accountability for the lives lost in this tragedy."
The protest coincided with escalating violence in Gaza, where Israeli attacks have resulted in over 147,000 Palestinian casualties, including tens of thousands of women and children. More than 10,000 individuals remain missing amidst the devastation.
The ongoing assault has caused widespread destruction and famine, claiming the lives of countless children and elderly people. Despite repeated international demands to halt the violence and address the dire humanitarian crisis, the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate.
