President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars Urges Immediate Action to Save Gaza from Israeli Atrocities
Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, has called for urgent action to rescue the people of Gaza from the massacres being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation.
In a post on his "X" account, Dr. Al-Qaradaghi stressed the collective responsibility to support Gaza, stating: "We are all falling short in our duty toward our brothers and sisters in Gaza." He urged Muslims worldwide to recognize their accountability before God and to take decisive steps to aid the oppressed.
A Call Against Ongoing Atrocities
Dr. Al-Qaradaghi highlighted the scale of devastation, particularly in Jabalia, lamenting:
"The heart aches, and the skin quivers at the horror of the continuous genocide and destruction."
He posed a pointed question to the Muslim world:
"Where are the powers of the Islamic world? Where is your passion? Where is your action to uphold justice in Gaza? Is there any hope left?"
Urgent Appeal for Action
In his heartfelt plea, Sheikh Al-Qaradaghi emphasized that the people of Gaza have fulfilled their duty in defending themselves, but their resources are dwindling. He called upon Muslims to act immediately, warning that delay could lead to the complete displacement of Gazans from their land and homes.
The Ongoing Genocide in Gaza
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. backing, has launched a campaign of mass extermination against Gaza. This brutal assault has resulted in over 147,000 casualties, including a majority of women and children, with more than 10,000 people reported missing.
In addition to the staggering human toll, Gaza faces widespread destruction, a dire humanitarian crisis, and escalating famine. The international community has yet to respond adequately to this unfolding catastrophe, leaving the people of Gaza in urgent need of help.
