Statement:
The
International Union of Muslim Scholars calls on the Lebanese people in all
their components not to be drawn into sedition and internal war sought by the
occupying Zionist entity.
The
Union is following with deep concern the painful developments in beloved
Lebanon, marked by killing, destruction, and acts of mass extermination
resembling what has taken place in Gaza.
In light
of the delicate circumstances and escalating challenges facing Lebanon, the
International Union of Muslim Scholars expresses its solidarity with beloved
Lebanon and reaffirms its firm position in supporting Lebanon’s security and
stability, its territorial integrity, and the safety of its people in all their
components.
On
behalf of the scholars of the الأمة
(Ummah), we issue a sincere appeal to our people in Lebanon, across all sects
and affiliations—Sunni, Shiite, Christian, and others—to fear Allah regarding
their homeland, and to exercise the utmost caution against sliding into
internal strife or inter-factional conflicts that bring nothing but destruction
and devastation.
Painful
past experiences in Lebanon have proven that internal wars produce no victor,
no prevailing or defeated party; rather, all are losers, and the entire nation
has paid the price in terms of its security, stability, economy, and social
fabric.
Today’s
duty requires prioritizing the voice of wisdom and reason, adhering to national
unity, strengthening civil peace, and rejecting all calls for incitement and
division, regardless of their source or motives.
We also
call upon the Lebanese state, its leadership and institutions, to fully assume
their responsibilities in protecting citizens, managing the crisis wisely and
efficiently, and mobilizing all available resources to preserve security and
stability.
We
emphasize the necessity of action by the Arab, Islamic, and international
communities to assume their responsibilities in stopping the aggression,
ensuring the protection of civilians, safeguarding Lebanon’s sovereignty and
territorial integrity, and securing vital facilities such as airports, ports,
and border crossings.
We also
call upon humanitarian and charitable organizations to mobilize their
resources, provide urgent relief support to those affected, and stand by the
Lebanese people in this ordeal.
In
conclusion, the current stage requires the highest levels of wisdom and
solidarity, the cessation of political recriminations amid crises, and the
unification of official and popular efforts in a way that preserves Lebanon as
land, people, and state, safeguards its dignity and stability, and prevents it
from sliding into further chaos, sedition, and conflict.
May
Allah protect Lebanon and its people from all harm, shield it from trials,
apparent and hidden, and protect the lands of Muslims from every aggression and
injustice.
And
Allah is the source of success.
