Obituary of esteemed scholar sheikh Abdel-Salam Yassine
The International Union of Muslim Scholars received with a believing, accepting heart the news of the departure of Moroccan scholar, educator, and preacher, sheikh Abdel-Salam Yassine, leader of Al-Adl wal Ihsan group. The valued sheikh had spent his long life calling people to Allah, and raised many generations to justly be considered a landmark of education, purification and calling to Allah. So may Allah grant him His abundant mercy, and resurrect him with prophets, truthful believers, martyrs and good men, and what a blessed company they are! {Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least} [Quran 33:23]
As the IUMS bears the distressing news of the loss of the esteemed sheikh Abdel-Salam Yassine to the Muslim nation, it offers deep condolences to his honored family, his noble children, his students and people who love him, and prays that Allah will grant them patience and solace.
