IUMS strongly condemns the criminal incident, which targeted more than 140 people at the University of Garissa, Kenya, and asserts that Islam is innocent of all these terrorist acts.

The International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) has received with deep sorrow the news of the armed attack on Garissa University, northeastern Kenya, by those who call themselves the "Somali youth movement" and who declared earlier claimed responsibility for this terrorist tragic incident that claimed the lives of more than 140 people from innocent students and staff and others, who have no sin at all, and did not commit any offense to die in this inhuman and ugly way.
IUMS in front of this tragic crime sees and confirms the following:
• The Union strongly condemns this criminal incident, done by a terrorist group on the students and staff at the University of Garissa, northeastern Kenya, which killed more than 140 people from innocent people who have no sin. And the Union offers condolences to the families of the victims and the state of Kenya, people and leadership and government.
• The Union confirms that the Islamic religion is completely innocent of such criminal terrorist acts, since Islam forbids killing anyone, only by the right, and what happened in Kenya is not right at all, and requires the prosecution of the perpetrators of the crime for their irresponsible actions and which is offensive to Islam and Muslims.
• The Union calls for fair punishment of the perpetrators of the crime who permits the blood of slaves without any right, and without any legitimate basis or legal, but going after their fancy, extremism and uncompromising, where Allah Almighty did not come down with the Sultan.
