Syrian Ministry of
Awqaf Launches “Riyada” E-Learning Institute for Islamic Studies
The Syrian Ministry of Awqaf has
launched the “Riyada” E-Learning Institute to provide Islamic studies through a
modern digital approach, as part of its initiative to develop religious and
academic education using advanced digital technologies.
According to the ministry’s
official channels on Sunday, February 1, the institute, supervised by the
Electronic Da’wah and Guidance Department, serves as a specialized Islamic
academic platform, enabling students to receive structured Islamic education using
innovative digital teaching methods.
The ministry explained that the
institute offers an intensive two-year study program, designed to follow a
progressive academic structure and meet the needs of learners, while adhering
to a solid scientific methodology.

The launch of “Riyada” is part
of the first package of e-projects introduced by the ministry on January 26,
under the slogan “Knowledge at Your Hands, from Your Home, Wherever You Are.”
The announcement was made during an event held at the National Library in
Damascus, attended by several ministers and religious scholars.
Syrian Minister of Awqaf,
Mohammad Abu Al-Khair Shukri, stated that the projects include three electronic
platforms: “Riyada” for Islamic education, “Wahi” for Quran learning, and
“Masjedak” to locate mosques on the map.
The minister emphasized that
this initiative aims to develop administrative, service, religious, and
academic functions in mosques across Syria and enhance the efficiency of those
in charge, as part of an integrated plan to keep pace with modern technological
advancements.
