Women: The Family’s Shield and
Final Fortress… A Scholarly Seminar in Doha Highlights Her Pivotal Role in
Building and Protection

On the evening of Saturday, September 20,
the World Union of Muslim Scholars hosted an intellectual seminar at its
headquarters in Doha, titled “The Role of Women in Building and Protecting the
Home”. The event was organized by the Committees of Purification, Islamic
Education, and Family, with the participation of a distinguished group of
female scholars and experts in women’s and family affairs.

During the seminar, Dr. Mona Sobhi Jalbi,
Chairperson of the Global Forum for Thought and Culture and a member of the
Union, emphasized that the family is the final fortress of the nation, from
which generations capable of driving renaissance and restoring civilizational
action emerge.

She stressed that family-building in Islam
is founded on solid values and clear standards, where responsibilities are
shared between spouses within a framework of rights and duties, highlighting
the importance of consultation and benevolence to ensure stability and
tranquility.

Dr. Jalbi also warned of the growing
challenges facing Muslim families in light of the spread of information access
and social media networks, as well as the attempts of certain hostile agendas
to dismantle values and undermine foundational principles by promoting ideas
foreign to natural disposition and religion.

She concluded by affirming that awareness
and the acquisition of family skills are a safeguard for protecting Muslim
homes, calling on scholarly and community institutions to intensify their
efforts to fortify the family and raise its consciousness.

“We Protect Our Family, and It Protects Us”

In the same context, the Family Committee of
the World Union of Muslim Scholars launched a comprehensive awareness campaign
under the slogan “We Protect Our Family, and It Protects Us”, aimed at
consolidating Islamic values and safeguarding families from intellectual and
legislative challenges.

The campaign focuses on confronting corrupt
legislation, strengthening family education, promoting marriage and youth
support, while highlighting the model of the Gazan family. It includes a
variety of events such as seminars and dialogues with participation from a
distinguished group of scholars of the Ummah.

The Committee emphasizes that protecting the
family is tantamount to protecting the entire nation, urging the public to
follow and engage with the campaign’s activities across various platforms.
