The International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) urgently calls upon the leaders of the Islamic, Arab, and the free world to actively intervene to save the remaining people of proud Gaza. This is both a religious and humanitarian duty, for which we will be held accountable by Allah Almighty and future generations.
The Union expresses its deep concern and strong condemnation of the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, particularly in the city of Rafah, where the Palestinian people are undergoing forced displacement and facing horrific attacks by Zionist forces. What is occurring is a genocidal process targeting innocent people and criminalizing humanitarian justice.
Recent developments in the southern Gaza Strip, including a violent attack by Zionist forces, constitute a blatant breach of international norms and human rights agreements. The Union demands an immediate cessation of violence and military operations against the Palestinians.
The Union fully supports the requests made by South Africa to the United Nations to prevent genocide in Gaza and to completely stop the Zionist aggression. It emphasizes the importance of international intervention to prevent further violations and forced displacement by the Zionist occupation.
In the context of South Africa's request to the International Court of Justice for an urgent order to protect Palestinians following Israel's attack on Rafah, the Union firmly calls on the Court to consider this matter and take the necessary actions to halt the Zionist aggression and protect the lives and security of Palestinian civilians.
At the International Union of Muslim Scholars, we consider the defense of human rights and the fight against injustice and oppression a moral and religious duty. Thus, we renew our strong support for the Palestinian people in their resistance to the occupation, and stress the necessity for the United Nations and the international community to enforce international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy on the Zionist state to protect civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
In this regard, we renew our call to the International Court of Justice for urgent intervention to protect the Palestinian people and to immediately stop the aggression. We also urge the international community and all active parties not to overlook these crimes and to ensure justice and stop the Zionist violence against the Palestinians.
We pray to Allah Almighty to inspire Muslim leaders to take real military and economic actions, and to awaken the conscience of global leaders to make fair and just decisions, and to achieve security and justice in Palestine and the entire region.
And Allah is the guardian of success.
