The International Union of Muslim Scholars: Our Noble Captive Sisters Cry Out, "O Mu'tasim!" Where is the honor of Islam, and the dignity, compassion, and courage of humanity? (Statement)
The Union calls upon its people, leaders and nations, and humanity as a whole to save our noble sisters in the prisons of the occupying forces, which have transgressed all human and divine values and international laws in their aggression against them.
We ask all of you: Haven’t all these crimes, this genocide, destruction, humiliation, and other injustices been enough to stir your consciences, to move your armies, or at least to call for an economic boycott that would mobilize the world to stop the brutal Zionist aggression?
Gaza is being completely annihilated, from north to south. The sanctity of the West Bank is being violated, its people are being killed, and Al-Aqsa Mosque is desecrated at the hands of criminal Zionists.
Lebanon, too, is being destroyed and its people killed openly and in broad daylight, yet no one moves to intervene.
Our captive sisters in the prisons of the occupation are targeted as well, with their abayas, hijabs, and niqabs being confiscated as a means of intensifying their suffering, humiliating them, and violating their sanctity.
The suffering endured by prisoners in general—and female prisoners in particular—in the occupation’s prisons is horrific: daily, arbitrary searches, deprivation of all human rights, including food, medicine, clothing, and bedding. The occupation’s aim is to crush their spirits and their bodies, a situation that chills the skin and breaks the hearts of both believers and any with a conscience.
Therefore, the Union directs this message to its nation, urging it to take effective action to halt this aggression, in line with its previous statements advocating the use of all legitimate means against the criminal, oppressive occupation.
The Union also calls upon all those with living consciences—human rights organizations, humanitarian groups, and international bodies—to intervene to prevent these crimes against humanity, which contradict all religious and humanitarian values.
The Zionist occupiers have not been satisfied with the bloodshed of tens of thousands of children, women, and civilians, nor with all the destruction and crimes they have committed, simply because they have encountered no deterrent. On the contrary, the United States and some European countries continue to support the brutal Zionist occupation with all available resources and deadly weapons. But God Almighty is not unaware of the deeds of the oppressors: “And Allāh is not unaware of what they do” (Quran, Al-Baqarah 2:144), “And never think that Allāh is unaware of what the wrongdoers do” (Quran, Ibrahim 14:42).
