Sheikh Al-Khalili: The World Must Expose Zionist Propaganda and Reject Double Standards in Support of Palestinian Rights
In a powerful statement on the platform "X" (formerly Twitter), Sheikh Ahmed Al-Khalili, Grand Mufti of Oman and Deputy President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, called on the international community to uncover the truth behind Zionist propaganda, which paints the aggressor as a victim merely defending itself. He emphasized that the Zionist entity operates on a deeply-rooted impulse to incite conflict and dominate wherever it goes, referencing incidents where Palestinian flags raised by supporters of the just cause have been forcibly removed.
Sheikh Al-Khalili stressed that Zionists have long deluded themselves with a belief in absolute superiority, backed by some Western governments, to the extent that they believe they are beyond accountability and immune to objection.
He noted that the time has come for the world to see through this propaganda and recognize the injustices that Zionism has inflicted upon others. The Palestinian people and the resistance in Lebanon are fighting for their legitimate rights and to repel aggression in a natural expression of human dignity and the right to defend their land.
Sheikh Al-Khalili urged Western societies to re-evaluate the policies of their governments, which continue to support this entity despite the dangers it poses to global peace. He called for more honest positions in dealing with the Palestinian cause and for rejecting the double standards that equate oppressor with oppressed.
He concluded by praying that Allah Almighty supports these efforts, affirming that justice and truth are what ultimately support the oppressed.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupying army, backed by the United States, has carried out a campaign of genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death and injury of over 145,000 Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, with more than 10,000 reported missing. This humanitarian catastrophe continues amid widespread destruction and famine, which has claimed the lives of dozens of children and elderly individuals.
