Iraqi Scholars Council Holds Female Preachers' Forum in Baghdad, Commends the Pioneering Role of the Women’s Section

The Iraqi Scholars Council convened the Female Preachers’ Forum at its headquarters in Baghdad, with the attendance of all executive council members, the head of the women’s section in the Al-Karkh district, the head of the women’s section in the Al-Rusafa district, and several prominent figures in the field of Islamic outreach.

The forum featured significant participation from young female preachers within the council, who stood out for their exceptional skills in creativity and innovation in modern outreach methods. They showcased a strong commitment to a scholarly approach and a deep sense of faith-driven responsibility in their mission to call people to God. Their dedication and excellence in performing their entrusted duties were evident throughout the event.

Organizers of the forum emphasized the importance of developing and expanding women’s outreach programs to address contemporary challenges. They stressed the need to empower and train young female preachers to actively contribute to spreading Islamic values and raising societal awareness, in line with a pre-established plan.

Dr. Saad Al-Halbousi, a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars and head of the council’s scientific department, delivered a speech congratulating the launch of this distinguished forum. He underscored that the responsibility of Islamic outreach is a collective one, not limited to men alone. He highlighted the crucial role of Muslim women, particularly young female preachers, in various fields of outreach due to their profound influence in nurturing generations and promoting ethical values within society.

Dr. Al-Halbousi praised the excellence of the young female preachers and the efforts of the women’s section within the council. He expressed his gratitude to the leaders overseeing and guiding the outreach activities. He also extended special thanks to the women’s section administration and Dr. Hussein Al-Barzanji, the general supervisor of the section, for his significant contributions to the success of women’s outreach work within the council’s structured institutional framework.

This forum represents an important step within the Iraqi Scholars Council’s plan to engage women in outreach activities and train a new generation of young female preachers. These women are capable of carrying the message of Islam’s moderation to Muslim families and society, thereby contributing to instilling faith-based, ethical, and educational values to achieve the council’s mission of reviving faith and reforming society.
