Qatar Honors Outstanding Imams, Preachers, and Graduates of Sharia Courses
The Department of Mosques and the Department of Religious Guidance and Preaching at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Qatar organized a ceremonial event today to honor the graduates of the new Qatari Imams' training program, participants in the "Role of the Family in Islam" course, as well as outstanding imams and preachers serving in the country’s mosques.

The event was attended by:
- H.E. Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments
- Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Kuwari, Assistant Undersecretary for Religious Preaching and Mosques
- Mr. Khalid bin Shahin Al Ghanem, Assistant Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs
- Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohiuddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars
Training Imams & Strengthening Family Values
The ceremony marked the graduation of a new group of Qatari imams who successfully completed a comprehensive Sharia training program designed to enhance their preaching and teaching capabilities. These graduates will play a key role in promoting the values of Islam and serving the community.
Additionally, the event honored the participants of the "Role of the Family in Islam" course, which focused on strengthening family values and equipping preachers with essential Sharia knowledge and educational skills to contribute to a cohesive society.
The Role of Imams in Guiding Society
During his speech at the event, Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Kuwari, Assistant Undersecretary for Religious Preaching and Mosques, praised the efforts of imams, preachers, and religious scholars, emphasizing their vital role in guiding society and promoting moderation based on the Quran and Sunnah.
"Today, we honor the outstanding Qatari preachers from the 'Role of the Family in Islam' course, the newly graduated Qatari imams, and the exceptional imams and preachers who have excelled in their academic and practical journey. The role of imams extends beyond leading prayers and delivering sermons—it is a responsibility of education, guidance, and moral reform that contributes to building values and ethics."
The Mission of Imams and Preachers
Speaking on behalf of the honorees, Preacher Ahmed Jabr Al-Dosari highlighted how the "Role of the Family in Islam" course enriched participants’ understanding of family values and improved their skills in Sharia and educational aspects. He stressed that imams carry a great responsibility both within the family and society, and should be role models in both words and actions.
Well-Deserved Recognition
At the conclusion of the ceremony, H.E. Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani distributed certificates of appreciation to imams, preachers, and religious scholars in recognition of their outstanding contributions to serving Islam and the community.

- Three instructors from the "Role of the Family in Islam" course
