Receives New Head of Qatar Branch, Discusses Enhancing Scientific and Da’wah

The Secretary-General of the
International Union of Muslim Scholars, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Sallabi,
received today, Saturday, April 18, at his office at the Union’s headquarters,
the newly appointed Head of the Union’s Qatar Branch, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Ayedh
Al-Qahtani. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere marked by cooperation
and consultation, during which they discussed the branch’s role in the coming
phase and prospects for strengthening its scientific and da’wah presence.
At the outset of the meeting, the
Secretary-General welcomed Sheikh Al-Qahtani, expressing his appreciation for
his assumption of this responsibility. He emphasized the importance of the
Union’s branches in supporting its mission, as extensions of its message and
effective platforms for implementing its programs and initiatives at both local
and international levels.
The meeting also addressed ways
to develop the work of the Qatar Branch, enhance its presence, and advance its
scientific, intellectual, and community programs. In addition, discussions
covered mechanisms for coordination with the General Secretariat, contributing
to improved performance efficiency and expanding the scope of impact in serving
the causes of the Muslim Ummah, as well as leveraging available opportunities
to launch high-quality programs that achieve the desired objectives.
For his part, Sheikh Al-Qahtani
presented his vision for managing the branch in the coming phase, outlining the
activities and programs he intends to implement to strengthen the branch’s role
and expand its presence in scientific and community spheres. He affirmed his
commitment to teamwork and cooperation with the General Secretariat to achieve
the Union’s goals and orientations.
The Secretary-General expressed
his gratitude to Sheikh Al-Qahtani for accepting this responsibility,
commending his willingness to carry this trust and praying for his success and
guidance in fulfilling his duties.
At the conclusion of the meeting,
the Secretary-General presented the new Head of the Qatar Branch with a
collection of his authored works and books as a gesture of appreciation,
reflecting the importance of intellectual and scholarly development in supporting
institutional work. He also wished him success in his upcoming responsibilities.
