“In the Presence of a Scholar”.. A qualitative event enhancing
young women’s awareness and building intellectual and faith-based impact
In an
experience that combined intellectual depth and spiritual spirit, the Youth
Committee of the Qatar branch of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, in
cooperation with the Palestinian Scholars Association, organized an event
titled “In the Presence of a Scholar,” during which it hosted preacher and
thinker Dr. Mona Sobhi, within a four-hour intellectual journey, targeting a
select group of young women interested in building awareness and making impact.
A different journey
The
journey started from the Old Doha Port amid lively and interactive atmospheres,
in an experience that went beyond the traditional character of youth programs,
to present a living model of intellectual presence based on open dialogue, deep
human communication, and calm faith formation.
The
program varied between faith and spiritual preparation that enhanced
familiarity among participants, an opening Qur’anic recitation and an emotional
impactful supplication, reaching the “intellectual presence” session with Dr.
Mona Sobhi, which was characterized by spontaneity and depth of presentation,
where she discussed issues of awareness, self-building, and the mission of the
Muslim young woman in times of transformations, in an interactive style that
touched the reality and aspirations of the attendees.
Awareness and impact
The
activity also included an interactive workshop that encouraged participants to
reflect, think, and formulate practical visions of the impact that a young
woman can create in her surroundings, amid an atmosphere of refined dialogue
and positive interaction.
Participants
expressed their happiness with this experience, praising the good organization,
the richness of content, and the spirit of closeness that prevailed in the
meeting, confirming that the activity formed an inspiring and safe space for
dialogue, thinking, and spiritual and intellectual provision away from the
usual stereotypical pattern in youth programs.
They
also praised the idea of “immersion” as one of the most influential methods in
building awareness and deepening impact, especially with what the journey
witnessed of diversity in segments and balance between benefit and enjoyment,
which was reflected on the level of interaction and positive presence
throughout the hours of the program.
Each of
Dr. Iman Sufyan, Dr. Naqa Mohsen, and Dr. Zainab Talha confirmed that the event
comes within the efforts of the Young Women’s Committee to provide qualitative
programs that touch the intellectual, faith-based, and educational needs of
girls, and contribute to preparing an aware generation capable of carrying the
message and making impact in society.
The
journey concluded with a closing session dedicated to reviewing results and
recommendations and filling out evaluation forms, amid feelings of gratitude
and joy expressed by the participants, who described the experience as “an
unforgettable journey of awareness,” which combined the beauty of the idea, the
warmth of companionship, and the depth of presentation, leaving an extended
impact that goes beyond the moment of meeting to a path of building and change.
