Head of the Jerusalem Committee at the Union Discusses
Coordinating Joint Efforts with the Head of the “Support Palestine Platform” to
Support the Palestinian Cause
Istanbul,
Turkey – In an atmosphere dominated by brotherhood and cooperation, Dr. Marwan
Abu Ras, Head of the Jerusalem and Palestine Committee at the International
Union of Muslim Scholars, visited the Turkish Palestine Support Foundation,
where he was received by Mr. Othman Nouri Kabakci, the Head of the Foundation,
who welcomed the visit, which comes within the framework of coordinating
efforts to support the Palestinian cause amid the current conditions.
During
the meeting, Dr. Marwan Abu Ras addressed the serious field developments,
highlighting the ongoing restrictions and incursions faced by Al-Aqsa Mosque,
as well as its closure which lasted for 40 consecutive days.
He also
discussed the tragic conditions of prisoners in occupation prisons, warning of
the consequences of what is known as the “Prisoners’ Execution Law,” and
reviewed the severe suffering in the besieged Gaza Strip amid the ongoing war
of extermination and starvation.
Dr. Abu
Ras also referred to the “Steadfastness Fleet,” pointing to what he described
as the enemy’s crimes and piracy practices carried out by the occupation
against free individuals who rose to support their besieged brothers in the
Gaza Strip.
He made
an urgent appeal to the head of the platform and its members to continue
intensive efforts to lift the blockade and work on conveying the voice of the
oppressed to rulers and decision-makers.
For his
part, Mr. Othman Nouri Kabakci confirmed his full response to this appeal,
explaining that the platform will continue its diligent activities aimed at
raising community awareness and informing it of the reality of the situation in
Gaza, while emphasizing their absolute and ongoing support for humanitarian
relief efforts and boycott campaigns.
Mr.
Othman concluded the meeting by reaffirming a firm and principled stance,
stating that “liberating people from occupation and aiding those in Gaza is a
duty upon every Muslim to the best of his ability.”
