IUMS calls for international Friday to reclaim Syrian rights
Within an international campaign to support Syrian people, and out of the union’s religious duty to defend rights and help oppressed people, the International Union for Muslim Scholars calls the Arab and Muslim world and all those with an active conscience to make Friday the 14th of December 2012, the 3rd of Safar 1434 of Hijrah, an international day to support Syrian people morally and financially in their struggle to reclaim their rights and dignity and to stand by their side in this prolonged ordeal that we hope will end soon, God wills it.
Based on this, the IUMS calls for and affirms the following:
First – Standing by the Syrian people in their ordeal is the responsibility of this nation, both its governments and people, and hence the obligation to assist with money and ordnance to end the injustice, reclaim their rights and protect their dignity.
Second – The IUMS calls the leaders and nations of the Arab and Muslim world to fully shoulder their responsibility to the incidents in Syria and urges them to double their efforts in supporting their brothers and sisters in Syria each according to their capabilities of money, effort, expertise, and connections or even with their word.
Third – The IUMS calls the nations’ scholars, intellects, speakers and parties to make Friday 14/12/2012 an international day to support the Syrian people with all possible means through speeches, the press, the media, through peaceful protests, supplication and pleading to Allah and that is the least duty toward them.
