IUMS Delegation visits Moscow Dagestan
A delegation representing the International Union for Muslim Scholars arrived in Moscow Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the beginning of a tour that includes Russia and Dagestan to attend a number of religious events. The delegation includes Sheikh Ali Mohyi Al-Deen Al-Qaradaghi, IUMS Secretary General, and Sheikh Abdel-Rahman Al Mahmoud, IUMS Stewardship Officer, and Rasheed Al-Olwi, IUMS Chief Executive Officer.
The delegation is planned to visit the Federation Council then the Senate in addition to the Russian State Duma to conclude the Russian official visits with a press conference at the Russian Interfax news agency. IUMS Secretary General Sheikh Ali Mohyi Al-Deen Al-Qaradaghi will also give a seminar at the Moscow Institute of International Relations at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The delegation will take part in the conference on teaching youth the spirit of moderation that will be held in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria.
An IUMS official also mentioned that the delegation is scheduled to visit Dagestan on November 16th in response to an invitation from its President Mogamedsalam Mogamedov.
